# Dirk Schouten Charges from 18th to 10th at the Hungaroring

XCLusive Pro driver Dirk Schouten produced one of the drives of the day in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup at the Hungaroring, climbing from 18th on the grid to 10th at the flag.

The second half of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup season kicked off at the Hungaroring near Budapest, and Dirk Schouten made it count. Starting the opening round of the season's second half from 18th on the grid, the Looping by CarTech driver carved his way through the field to take the chequered flag in 10th and bank valuable points.

It was a comeback built on a lightning start. Schouten got away superbly and went on the attack immediately, slicing past two cars around the outside at Turn 2 on the opening lap before continuing to pick off rivals as the race unfolded.

"A strong race," Schouten said afterwards. "I had a mega start, could attack straight away on the first lap, went around the outside of two cars at Turn 2 and kept taking positions after that. From 18th on the grid to 10th at the finish."

At the front, Finnish Porsche Junior Marcus Amand took his maiden Supercup pole and converted it into victory, leading home Chester Kieffer in second and Wouter Boerekamps in third, the latter claiming his first podium of the season. Schouten was one of three Dutch drivers inside the top 10, alongside Boerekamps and Robert de Haan in fifth.

An eight-place charge through the field is exactly the kind of racecraft that has built Dirk's reputation, and it's another result the XCLusive community can be proud of. On to the next one.
